Eurojet Turbo GmbH

EUROJET Turbo GmbH was formed in 1986 as the management company responsible for the EJ200 engine system, which in itself was created to meet the demands of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. At the beginning of the Eurofighter Typhoon project, the four core nations involved (Germany, UK, Italy and Spain) established the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) under the NATO charter as the single interface for the core customers – the nations themselves. Essentially, the core customer for both EUROJET and Eurofighter is NETMA and it is with NETMA that the industrial contracts are made for those core nations.

EUROJET was set up as a separate company in order to manage all the aspects of this joint project with responsibilities encompassing all areas of the development, support and export of the new generation EJ200. EUROJET’s shareholders are Rolls-Royce (UK), MTU Aero Engines (Germany), ITP (Spain) and Avio Aero (Italy) and its headquarters are based in Germany not far from Munich airport.
