Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) compose the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Warfare Centers. Principal lines of business range from ship design, to developing and deploying new capabilities, to supporting warfighters in theater. Warfare Centers technical expertise spans numerous technical capabilities and covers a full spectrum of systems and products identified within different core equities available to support warfighters and homeland defenders.

NSWC operates the Navy's full spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, and fleet support centers for offensive and defensive systems associated with surface warfare and related areas of joint, homeland and national defense systems from the sea.
