Thales ATM Navigation GmbH

Thales Deutschland's Air Traffic Management Division has been developing and building terrestrial and satellite-supported navigation systems for air traffic control for over seventy years. Operationally, Air Traffic Management is part of the Navaids (Navigational Aids) Business Segment and has additional sites in Gorgonzola, Italy (near Milan) and in Shawnee near Kansas City in the United States.

The division acts as a center of expertise for technical and export issues. It provides customers such as DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, airport operators and flight safety organizations around the world, as well as the German Air Force and NATO, with a complete range of single-source product solutions for navigation, airspace surveillance and airport automation, offering everything from design to development and manufacturing, up to and including installation, start-up and maintenance. Included are approach, landing and route navigation systems, radar systems for flight safety and airports, airport and tower systems, complete communications, navigation, airspace surveillance and airport automation solutions, as well as satellite-supported navigation systems.

More than 160 countries rely on Thales technology for flight safety and airspace surveillance.
In June 2014, Thales Deutschland has merged its locations in Stuttgart and Korntal in Ditzingen (county of Ludwigsburg) under one roof. The divisions Transportation Systems and Air Traffic Management (ATM) are headquartered here.
