WASHINGTON --- The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) of one hundred thirty-five (135) AGM-84H Standoff Land Attack Missile Expanded Response (SLAM-ER) Missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $1.008 billion. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.
 

General Electric Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, has been awarded $707,274,997 for four undefinitized contract actions under an existing F110 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, for F110-GE-129 engine production.
 

ANDOVER, Mass.  -- The Kingdom of Bahrain signed an agreement to purchase Raytheon's (NYSE: RTN) combat-proven Patriot™ air and missile defense system from the U.S. Army. This letter of offer and acceptance allows the U.S. government to begin contract negotiations with Raytheon for production of an undisclosed quantity of systems and missiles. 

The People's Liberation Army is strongly dissatisfied by and resolutely opposes Washington's recent approval of a $2.2 billion arms deal for Taiwan, an action that has seriously undermined Sino-US military relations, according to Senior Colonel Wu Qian, a spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense.
