The thin walled cylindrical body is loadedwith steel pellets and is fitted with a baseplug. When fired, the projectile breaks open,upon leaving the muzzle, and projects thesteel pellets in a cone with an effective rangeof approximately 100 metres. The projectileis fixed on a brass cartridge case, which contains a single base multi-perforated propellant andis fitted with a mechanical primer.
