For use in the 76mm L5A1 (on Saladin) or L23/23A1 guns (on Scorpion light tanks)against personnel and material targets and inorder to provide fire support to infantry.

The high fragmentation steel projectile isloaded with Composition B and is equippedwith a Point Detonating fuze model M739 orequivalent. A tracer is mounted on the projectilebase. The projectile is fixed on a brass cartridgecase, which contains a single base multi-perforated propellant and a mechanical primer.
