PILAR is a system that localises, precisely and in real time, shots fired by small and medium calibre weapons, based on sound waves generated by the shot.
This version is designed for the protection of helicopters. It allows detecting aggression while in flight, and then to escape or return fire. Depending on the size, it is available as 2 to 4 acoustic arrays set outside the helicopter. A display in the cockpit allows warning the pilot and showing the position of the threat.
PILAR discriminates the noise from the helicopter blades and motor.
Pilar Helicopter version can be interfaced according to specific needs :
Precision on small arms (RMS):
Detection rate: ≥ 90%
Identification of the calibre according to two classes: ≤ 7.62 mm or > 7.62 mm.
